My first Sigma brushes!

Hello! Long time no blog! How are you all? Sorry for being MIA :(

I have always wanted to try Sigma brushes but the shipping fee always makes my heart ache. Last year's birthday, my loveliest friend, Violet, from the States asked me what I wanted and I immediately think of Sigma brushes!

When they arrived, I fell in love like a girl with her first lolly! She gave me four face brushes and two eye brushes. They are F86, F50, F05, F35, E45 and E65.

I'm too lucky! Thanks baby V! <3

I couldn't wait to wash them and use them stat, but I know I had to take photos of them first so I can share with all of you! :)

This egg-shaped brush actually reminds me of the beauty blender. I have been using this for foundation only but I've heard it can be used to apply bronzer, blush and highlighter as well. This brush makes blending as easy as ABC. I also love that it can reach small areas like around my nose and eyes. However, as this brush is very dense, it does take longer time to dry.

I actually haven't tried this brush yet because I recently just purchased the MAC 187 which is very very similar. So I can't say much about it yet, but I believe it works the same as my MAC one, which I use to apply liquid foundation. The biggest difference would probably be the price.

I have finally found a contour brush that I am satisfied with! I really love contouring but I'm not very good at it, so having a good brush would help me a lot. The size of the brush is perfect and it doesn't pick up too much product at a time, which I like so I won't pack on too much bronzer on my face and look like a clown.

Another brush that makes me scream "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE???" ok, maybe not that dramatic but you guys know what I mean. I use the side part of the brush for my cheekbones and the tapered part for the bridge of my nose. When I first used it, I was so amazed how my highlighter was applied. It was like boom! right on the target! I never actually used a brush just for highlighting, so the product is always all over the place when I apply it. Now I finally realised how important a brush is!

This brush is great for applying eyeshadow on the crease and blending it. My eyelids are not very big (typical asian lids), so I need a smaller brush for them. My go-to blending brush has always been my MAC 217, but I do find it can be hard if I want to achieve a more of a cut crease look, but now that I have this brush, I can do it easier. I still love my MAC 217 though!

Timing is everything! I've just lost my MAC 266 brush when I was doing my makeup in a bus *insert sad face* and here it is, another brush came to the rescue. This brush is great for filling in eyebrows (which I prefer) and applying gel eyeliner. It is narrower in terms of width than MAC 266, but it does the job and I have no much to complain.

All of these Sigma brushes are so soft and do their jobs perfectly. I would definitely want more of them, just wish they can be sold in Australia. But before that wish come true, you guys can check them out at their website. They have tons of choices and collections to choose from.

Enjoy the rest of the week, my lovelies!

Oh Lucy! Nails

Hi everyone! This is definitely a long long overdue post, sorry about that!

I had an insane week in uni before my Easter break, so my brain was kinda dead after that, and now it's back alive (sort of).

This post is going to be about the nail art that Lucy did a couple of weeks ago. She said she did these "quickly", so please excuse the quality, but I think the exact opposite! These nail art are amazing considering she only had one night to do them! Anyhoo, enjoy and tell me if you would like to see more. :)

Now tell me if they aren't amazing! Her designs vary from simple to elegant to tribal modern. I personally love them and Lucy definitely impressed me with all of these!

She also brought all the tools and products that she usually uses to create nail art.

She recommended the cuticle butter Lemony Flutter from Lush, she said it is amazing and works not only for cuticles but also elbows, heels, etc, just like what Lush claimed to do.

Last but not least, Lucy has created a Facebook page: Oh Lucy! Nails So go check it out and support her! :)

Lucy is so lovely, she brought me some face masks as well. I will do a review on my favorite face masks soon, so stay tuned for that!

Until then, enjoy your weekend!

Recent Accessories Haul

Two days in a row! Wow I'm on fire! LOL!!

Let's talk about BLING! LOL! I love accessories! I think they can totally make or break an outfit. My favourites are usually statement pieces as I don't normally layer accessories. However, I do think that layering them is very fashionable, but it is not my style.

I've been thinking about doing this post for quite some time but haven't found a real worthy piece that I can blog about, until yesterday! Janice from chaigyaru invited me to a product launch yesterday that happened to have a market outside the venue. The market is called Bizarre Bazaar. She left me for about 10 minutes and I decided to shop! (Oh, boy) I came back with two items from Lotus Mendes.

I love the colors!! The neon green is so eye-catching and different. Definitely going to be one of my favorites rings to wear! I love the tribal-vintage feeling of the bangle as well. Great for daily wear and night wear as well.

The next items are from a jewelry stand at Bankstown Centro. They have lots of choices of necklaces and rings. These two are the ones that I decided to pick up.

I forgot how much are they but they are quite affordable. As you can see, I love my golds lol. I don't know why I am always attracted to gold rather than silver. I've been wearing this ring almost everyday, because it matches every outfit I wear. Loving it!

I went to Glebe Markets about 2 weeks ago just to "look around" and of course I didn't just look around haha. I bought two rings, well technically it's my boyfriend that bought them hehe.

Isn't the cat ears the cutest ever?! It's cute and edgy at the same time. And I can sort of protect myself with it, because my friend told me it hurts if I punch someone while wearing it lol. Finally something different. A little bit of feminism in me haha. It's a simple and pretty going-out ring.

Accessories have been making my outfits a lot more interesting, so my love to them will never die hahaha.

Share with me your favourite pieces of jewelry, I'd love to know! :)

I know a lot of people can't go out without mascara, but it's ok for me hehe.

That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoy this quick tutorial for everyday look.

Review and Swatches: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle

Hi everyone! This is going to be my first review! Hope you guys will find it helpful :)

I've won the Lip Butter from a competition held by The Makeup Box Shop on Facebook. I have never won anything on any type of competition but my hope never dies lol, so I entered the competition by simply telling which state of Australia I'm living in. And who the hell expected for me to win?! I certainly didn't! I was beyond excited, so I decided that I want my first review to be this Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter.

001

The Color that I've won is in Pink Truffle. As it is the color number one, I've heard that it is the most popular one amongst the 20 colors that they have (yay for varieties!)

Pink Truffle can be described as dusky pink. It won't be my first choice if I am buying it myself, but I am not complaining coz I am already very grateful!

The product

The packaging itself looks quite cheap as the cap is made by plastic, however the silver tube does make it feel more classy and sophisticated. I am not a fan of the transparent cap though, I find it weird looking (yea I'm weird like that).

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

What Revlon claims about their Lip Butter:

- Buttery Balm + Shiny Color
- Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.

Swatches

As I first put it on my lips, I was amazed by how moisturised my lips feel and looks shiny instantly. I can see myself falling in love with it already! The color looks very natural on the lips and it is definitely a everyday lip color that will suit everybody. It lasts on my lips for about a couple hours, which is considered good, because I drink water quite often throughout the day, so my lipsticks tend to fade easily.

In action

Overall:
I'm really liking this Lip Butter and the color is growing on me faster than I expected. With the quality and pigmentation, I would totally recommend this product. Too bad Lip Butter is not yet available in Australia, but I heard they are coming! So stay tune! :)

Rating: 4/5
Disclaimer: Product is won from a competition held by The Makeup Box Shop.

Cosmopolitan x Priceline Beauty Workshop

Hi All!

Last Thursday, I was invited to a Beauty Workshop created by Cosmopolitan and Priceline. It was held in Pitt St mall, near Zara. The workshop was held in Melbourne and Brisbane as well.

At first, I didn't know what to expect, because I never been to one before, but an event held by Cosmo and Priceline can't be wrong, so I decided to go and asked my pretty friend Jeanice to go with me. I was so looking forward to this event the whole day I was at work. Hehe.

Public but intimate

The stage

And look who I met! So happy to see them again! :D

Tram and Alice

Before the event started, Helen Dowsley, world renowned makeup artist, asked if I would like to come on stage and she'll do hollywood themed makeup on me. I was quite hesitant at first, but Jean said yes for me and Helen was like "there you go, your friend is answering for you!" I was so nervous yet excited! :D
So here I go!

My awkward smile

what am i doing -__-

teehee!
It was such a fun and different experience! I tried to act cool the whole way, I think I did a pretty good job hahaha.

They asked another girl to do colour-blocking makeup and GHD for hairstyling too.

And...drumroll!! The host was Cosmopolitan's Beauty Editor, Leigh Campbell! She is sooo gorgeous in person!

So pretty!
The event was mainly about sharing makeup tips and tricks. I learned some really helpful ones, so I'd like to share it here too.

When Helen applied foundation on my face, she didn't apply all over my face, instead she applied on just in the middle area on my face, mainly on my t-zone and then blend it out evenly. Especially if you just want to touch up on your makeup after having a long day. My face looked fresher without feeling heavy on makeup!

Leigh also talked about applying fake lashes on top of our actual lashes not on the skin. That will make the fake lashes more natural.

She also mentioned the newest trend of makeup, which is colour blocking. It is okay to wear two bold colours at the same time, just like colour blocking your clothes.

The most important tips in my opinion is to practice as much as you can. Makeup is about experimenting and practice makes perfect!

Pretty Jean :)

Now, what's that bag that we were carrying? It was a bag full of goodies! They were so heavy but looking at them made me feel so excited!

There are so many products in there that I really can't wait to try! For example, the VS Sassoon Curl Magic, Nads Eyebrow Shaper, Revlon Photoready Primer, 1000Hour Nail Foils, and so much more!

:O
Overall, I was so glad that I went to the event and I hope Cosmo and Priceline can have more of similar events in the future! Do go check Cosmo's latest issue that comes with Priceline beauty book for free! I've always loved reading Cosmopolitan, it is one of the best magazines out there in my opinion, and Priceline is just a heaven for beauty junkies (needless to say that).

Last but not least, I managed to get a photo with Leigh and Helen! YAY!!

I'm the lucky bitch! :D

Thanks for reading and following my blog, my lovelies!

I really appreciate all of u! :D
